Odd experience...

I had an odd experience recently, first let me explain At my school XYZ is a joke they have like 13 guys and all are hardcore geeks and nerds, they are pretty much the joke of the campus. However, after going to UofMD with a few buddies to party we met the XYZ bros there and they are mad chill... so I guess this goes to show that you really can't judge a whole fraternity by a single chapter.

I don't want this to sound mean...but...duh. :p

Why the need to publicly badmouth a fraternity chapter?

That wasn't very nice, Colonist.

I guess you can't judge a whole fraternity by one small-minded, rude member as well.

Its rude to state fact? I frankly don't see how its rude to point out differences, some may disagree with the way I posted this and perhaps it wasn't thought out as well as it could have been but it is in no way malacious. Notice how I did not mention the location of the bad chapter? If I wanted to be a jerk I would, but that is not my intent in anyway.

As for calling me small-minded...how do you figure?

I had prior to this had the experience that most chapters were quite similar no matter where you are, I realized there were some exceptions but hadn't seen them first hand. For instance in my hometown SigEp is huge and its huge at my current school. So, my apologies for any misunderstandings.

I'm not too thrilled that you pointed out the chapter. Hell.. those guys have to rush also. Rushees may view this site. There are folks that belong there just like anywhere else. Yeah, there are always guys that don't really "fit in" at national conventions though. They're still our bro's and are treated no differently.

I'd request that you change the name of the fraternity indicated above to something like XYZ.

But yeah, I've seen it happen.

Appreciate it:D

Your statement though is dead on.

Chapters of the same organization differ greatly from campus to campus.

One question...where in the heck did you go to high school!? My whole graduating class with the exception of like 2 or 3 kids went onto 4 year colleges...

That's pretty unusual; at least in public schools. Did you go to a private high school?

Yeah private catholic school, but even my buddies at the local public schools (granted we are in a nice suburb) for the most part went to state schools UW, UM, etc.

Yeah I kind of have blinders on about some things, I was in private school my whole life so never had to deal with a lot of the public school stuff.
