i was just wondering if there are any locals of african american heritage.

Not sure what you mean by local, but I am going to assume :cool: that you mean orgs that are not members of the NPHC.

There are a lot of fraternities and sororities who are not affiliated with the NPHC and have chapters throughout the US. Off the top of my head comes to mind Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Alpha Lambda Omega Christian Sorority, and Iota Phi Lambda Sorority.

I ran across a website a while back called SororitySister.net that listed all (or the most commonly known) sororities for women of color.

I didn't think an organization was considered local if it had more than one chapter.

That said:

I think that Alpha Beta Sigma Sorority, Inc. is still local at SUNY Buffalo, but I think it has national aspirations.

Shemsu-Heru Fraternity was founded at Howard last year.
