Where do you prefer to meet people?
...and where are some places that you DON'T prefer to meet people?
|
This may sound strange, but when I was "single", the nicest guys I met were at the Blood Bank. You know they're clean, ultruistic, and somewhat generous.
|
When I was single and working at a restaurant, I met some of the nicest people you could ever imagine. Yes, I did also meet my share of jerks, but people who regularly came in to see you made up for the meanies! Hell, the restaurant is where I met my current boyfriend of 3 years! Of course we worked together, so I guess that makes my answer work. Sometimes it is hard to work with you significant other, but it sometimes works well for others like me!
(We don't work together anymore since we've both graduated college and began our "real world" lives!) :p |
I've dated (and been in serious relationships) with guys that I was friends with first. I decided I'm not going to do that anymore. It's too hard when he gets the friends after the break-up. It's also hard when things return to normal somewhat, but you're never the same as before you started dating.
That said I'm going grocery shopping after work and I'm going to keep my eye out for some mens (although we have no Publix up here, so I don't know if I'll have the same success as the other ladies;) ) |
Through friends or through mutual hobbies. Since I scuba dive in mostly cold water, with mainly men, it hasn't been that hard.......;)

PUBLIX, yeah baby!
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D |
OK this just in...I saw 3 good looking guys at the grocery store (they all kinda looked similar) and one was SUPER HOT but I didn't talk to any of them. I'm a wuss. But I did take like an extra half hour putzing around in the hopes I'd keep running into one of them, but alas I only ran into each of them about 2 or 3 times. I won't give up hope though!

I don't have a rule against or for anyplace, but it makes me trust the guy a lil less or more, depending on where we met.
For example- the guys that get my ## in a club, I never expect to hear from again. And if they do call, I assume they just want ass, until they prove me otherwise. To me, that's what the majority of people go to a bar to do- meet someone to hook up with. Now, if a guy pulls up to me at a stoplight, or asks for my # while I'm working...I trust that more. He's sober, he's taking time out of his day.....clearly it guarantees nothing, I still don't expect anything, but for some reason subconsiously I give it more of a chance. |

For me I don't have a preference on where I meet people. I once met this guy behind the counter at a gas station a little more than a year ago. To this day I still couldn't believe I actually gave him my number. I've met people in other public places like Starbucks, restaurants (there was this one waiter and I got the guts to ask him for his number...unfortunately he had a girlfriend and she was waitressing at the same place!), clubs, through friends, at church, and even through the internet. |
I really dont have a pref for where i like to meet chicks. I like to meet them everywhere. Its seems like everywhere I go I meet new chicks. Whether its school, the grocery store, a club, a party, a bar, the beach, at mass, the gym, the tanning salon or just chillin at the pool at my apt....somehow me and my friends attract chicks everywhere, we're always meeting new ones.

If a guy tries to pick me up at a club, I give him the big rejection phone number. Everybody at the clubs are in it for the meat market value, so I pass.
Sad to say, but I've been attracted to some of my customers at the bar I work at. A lot of them are really hot, come from good backgrounds and have great jobs, and they're not the types to get piss drunk and out of hand. I've gotten some phone numbers that I did call, but nothing serious has ever come about. But...my favorite place to pick up guys/get picked up, by far as to be HALE NOA, my beloved kava bar. So far I'm 3 for 3! :) |
