Shalom AKAtude~
A BIG "Thankyou" goes to you! This is also great for us Moms who are trying to build a sense of caring for and helping others into our children's character. My son is beginning to understand that his life is not an opera song (Me-me-me-me-me-me) and this will be a great resource for him. Girl, you've made my day a little bit sweeter! Thanks!!! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif Shalom~ |
Cards for Kids Programs
I found this bit of information in the current issue of "Redbook" magazine. I thought I would share. Maybe the teachers on the board could make this a class assignment.
Love Letters will forward your mail to critically ill children around the country. Address a card or letter to "Dear Friend", 837 S. Westmore Avenue, Lombard, IL 60148 or e-mail LLETERS01@aol.com for more information. Carol's Cards for Kids will put you in touch with a young brain tumor patient and his or her siblings. You'll be asked to write one card a month. E-mail braintumor@prodigy.net. Make a Child Smile focuses on three children with life-threatening illnesses every month. www.makeachildsmile.org gives a biography of each child and a P.O. box where you can send cards or small gifts. |
Thanks for the tip!
