Would you do it all over again?
Considering what you know about life now, if you had the ability to go back to a time in the past (at least 5 years) and start all over again. You wouldn't know about what happened to you before, but your mindset would be at the point at which you left (ie your age now).
This maybe won't make sense, but......n/m Well, I definitely would. |
Knowing what I know now, I'd definitely do things/live differently, but that's part of life. You just don't know until you live it. As for regretting anything, there are some things I wished I had done differently, but you know what, I had the opportunity to choose how I wanted to do certain things and I chose a way that I am now unhappy with, but I can't change the way I decided back then, so I can't regret anything. I live not to regret.
Hope I made sense. |
I am totally the same way! I don't believe in regret, it is such a useless waste of energy. After all, you can't change the past... Just use the experience to prevent things from going wrong in the future.
That being said, if I could do one thing differently, I would have established a better diet and workout routine at an earlier age, because it's so much easier to stay in shape and toned than to do it later. I see these little high school girls and I just want to warn them how hard it is to be disciplined in college when you are drinking and eating late night... Shallow, I know, but I wouldn't want to change anything else. |
why not? Knowing what I know now..i would definately go back..especially before my grandparents passed away ( 3 of em in less than 8 months of each other)..I would learn everything I could about 'em!
|
I would go back in a heartbeat. BUT only if I could know what I know now.
I wouldn't change things, but I would do some things differently. Does that make sense? I guess I mean I wouldn't change the BIG things, but I would do other things differently. I dunno. |
I too would go back. Even though I wouldn't know which events
to change, with the knowledge and insight I've gained just by experience, I know certain choices would be different. I guess that's why they say, "Hindsight is 20/20". Many of those little "tuisms" came from different people's observations spanning centuries of life experiences. What would it have hurt to give it a little extra thought... Ben Franklin was an insightful man. "Ah simple Man! When a boy, two precious jewels were given thee, Time, and good Advice; one thou hast lost, and the other thrown away." |
I don't think I would. All of my life experiences made up who I am today and, despite my mistakes, I am me and I like who I am!

i do wish that i can change the past. but had i not gone through the last five years the way that i did, i would not be the same person today. i have learned way too much. i do sometimes wish that i could have done things differently. but i didnt know then what i do now. so i need to accept the past and move on.

If I could go back with winning lottery numbers for one of those $100+ million jackpots, I'd do it in a second.

Five years is a drop in the proverbial bucket. Let's talk 40 years or so...

If I could go back about 25 years or so, oh hell yeah I would do it all over again...TRUST ME, I would
I SO wish I could change the past and how I grew up. Quote:

If I could go back and re-live the past few years I wouldn't. This is because a lot of wonderful things that have happened in my life have been the result of happenstance. I'm worried that I would do something small that would set of a chain reaction leading to an end result that is different than my life has turned out to be.
Does that make sense? |

Of course, I wouldn't mind not having all of this law school debt for a degree I've decided not to use, but oh well... ;) |
If I knew then what I know now, I don't think I would have had as much fun as I did. There's only once in your life when you can be young and naive and get away with it. It's called freshman and sophomore year. :p If I went back having the mindset I have now, I may not have been involved in the situations I got involved in but, at the same time, I wouldn't be the person I am now if it weren't for those experiences. It was those experiences that made me grow up and become the person I am today.
