does anyone know any new original music. not the normal over played stuff on the radio. the kind of music that you usually just hear from through a friend. like modest mouse, or hinder, or flybanger. just rock or alternitive, no r&b or rap.

I'm really into Kill Hannah right now. They sound like a mix of Smashing Pumpkins and White Stripes....pretty original music but they're starting to be played on the radio here in Chicago.

I don't know if that's what you're looking for but you should definitely check them out.

Pepper and Go Jimmy Go! are two local bands that are gaining momentum on the mainland. Pepper's a more punk/ska while Go Jimmy Go! is acoustic rock/reggae/ska all into one. They've developed a strong following here.

they are a funky jam band out of the NYC area..their website kind of sucks and doesn't have a lot of information. i know they just recorded a demo, but i don't know if they tape any of their shows or not.

One of my best friends from high school's boyfriend is in a band - Humdrum. They supposedly received a record deal from some bad @$$ record label, can't remember who though. But anyway, HERE is their site. Check it out. There are also a few songs at the bottom of the first page that you can download. Chained and What I Strive For are my favorites. :)
