NPC and PC
How do I explain to the Student Activities Coordinator in the Office of Student Life that NPC and PC are not the same thing? I gave an explanation by obviously it was not simple enough for her...

Give us a little more info....
What did you tell her? When you say PC are you talking about a college Panhellenic Council or just a Greek Council? Why do you need to explain this to her (are you trying to start a Greek Council on campus?)
If she needs to know general info about NPC as a whole, look at their website at npcwomen.org. If you want to set up a Greek Council (not a College Panhellenic associated with NPC) then you should get some info from schools that have a Greek Council (and I'm sure there are plenty of GreekChatters here that can direct you to those schools or give you info!) Compare NPC to McDonald's and PC to [insert name of local restaurant here].

You could also compare it to Girl Scouts--there's the international organization and then there are the local scout troops. There's probably a million different examples you could use.

I tried to tell her that NPC is the National Panhellenic Conference and is made up of 26 national sororities.
The Panhellenic Council is a local governing body at our school that all sororities are involved in...or used to be anyway. My sorority and another sorority dropped out of PC because of a disagreement... The Greek Council is a local governing body at our school that all sororities and fraternities are involved in. I'm trying to find a simple way to tell her the difference so she can make a correction on the school website. |
NPC is an industry trade group. If she can't understand that, then she is too stupid to be working in an institution of higher learning.
