Thousands Feared Dead in Iran Earthquake
|
Didnt they have an earthquake not long ago???? That the USA very generously gave them aid for which they took willingly........yet they refuse to help us in the war on terror?
I'm torn on this ..........I know there is no political boundaries when it comes to human suffering, and that people should help other people.........but....I dont know...... |
"Hardly any buildings in Iran are built to withstand earthquakes, although the country sits on several major faultlines and temblors are frequent."
That speaks volumes about the current Iranian government, as well as the Shah who ruled before. |

U.S. aid has put the Iranian leaders in the interesting position of having to say, thanks a lot, but we still don't like you.
Lot of posturing today as reported on NPR. |
Some of my friends from college have family in Iran. I haven't been able to talk to them yet to see how they're doing but I hope they're alright. :(

The toll keeps rising! Did you hear about the 97 year old woman they pulled out UNHARMED!!!
News reports say it's not unusual for this high a death toll. It is so hard to imagine though. I understand that most of the building were little more than cement blocks filled with mortar or something similar. Delt Alum-U.S. aid has put the Iranian leaders in the interesting position of having to say, thanks a lot, but we still don't like you. Lot of posturing today as reported on NPR Today's paper said the Iranian govt. thinks the doctors are spies. (I wouldn't doubt one or two in all honesty) The Iranian doctors disagree and are grateful-especially for any females because in their culture, women can only be treated by a woman. |
