Puerto Rico

I don't think it should be their decision to join the Union. They should have been made a state the minute we kicked out the Spainish. Same with Cuba. Castro is our fault. Seriously, the entire Caribean should be part of America.

I think Puerto Rico and Guam should vote to become a state or become independant. Make a choice already. If they don't want to become a state they shouldn't get the benifits Americans get.

Many there are happy with the current situation. All of the benefits, none of the costs!

There is a secessionist movement there. I don't see it gaining much momentum though.

To be fair, Puerto Ricans have always been some of the most patriotic people out there, always sending way more than their share in times of war.

Wait a minute. Didn't you say in another thread that America only needs the original thirteen "colonies?" Make up your mind.

They should have their choice.

In 1959, the citizens of the Territory of Hawaii weren't privileged enough to have a vote.

Yeah I did, good catch. What I mean is that we need massive restruturing. We only NEED the original 13. 50 is way more than that. Alaska and Hawai'i are really far away. Why stop at 50, that's all I'm saying. We either need to keep it the original or go with this whole international federadtion thing. I really don't care. You know what political beliefs are? I'm a federalist. Global Federalist. I should be the Premier.

And on the other hand, you have Washington, DC....all of the taxation and an emasculated representative in Congress. :(

True that. We should rework the constitution. No one who works for any branch of any government level should be allowed to work on it though.
