Carnival and AOIIs

I just posted in the Sisters Online section under Brag Board but I will add a truncated version here.

If you are going to be in the New Orleans area, come out to a few parades. You never know. That masked man could actually be your sister!

Krewe of Pegasus - www.kreweofpegasus.com - My husband rode in this one last year and had a blast. Pegasus will roll on Saturday, February 14 at 7:00 p.m. What a nice way to spend Valentine’s Day.

Krewe of Iris – no web site – Several sisters ride in this one. It is the oldest all-female parading Krewe founded in 1917. This 600+ member Krewe rolls Saturday, February 21 at Noon. This very beautiful parade is the first of 3 rolling in Orleans Parish that day.

Krewe of Orpheus - www.kreweoforpheus.net – I am a charter member and I am so excited to celebrate our 11th year. We are known as a “Super-Krewe” because we have over 1200 members. The theme for Orpheus 2004 is "SERANADE OF THE SEASONS”. We roll on Monday, February 23 at 5:30 p.m. Our ball is open which means anyone can attend and we generally have about 5000 people. Country music artist Brad Paisley will be the Celebrity Monarch and will perform along with our founder, Harry Connick, Jr.

Oh wow, I am going to New Orleans on Monday for the first time ever! the University of North Texas is playing in the Bourbon Bowl, or I guess now its the New Orleans Bowl, so some friends of mine are going out there. And the Sigma Nu's from UNT will be out there for thier formal, so it should be a blast! Maybe I need to get out there again in Feb.!!!!

I will be going home for Christmas on the 20th and staying till January 4, 2004. Then I'll be back down there for Nereus Mardi Gras Ball, Rex, and some other Mardi Gras events and parades. I'm glad to know other sisters are down there and representing!
