Why you/they cheated?

This is an offshoot of the self confession cheating thread . . which is sparsely commented on lol . . .

Why do you think your friends cheated? They confided in you. Spill.

I cheated because I wasn't happy. My boyfriend wasn't acting in a way that made me feel very good, but I was a wuss and didn't break up with him because he always had excuses that sounded good at the time. So when this gorgeous Sig Ep started calling me and walking me back from class and wanting to take me out on real dates, not just to McDonald's, I was very flattered. It didn't hurt that he looked sort of like Heath Ledger, either. He acted like he really wanted to be around me and gave me the attention I wasn't getting from my boyfriend, so I went for it. We eventually stopped seeing each other because I felt like I should stick with my boyfriend. I regretted the "indiscretion" at the time, but now I wonder if I shouldn't have just left my boyfriend instead.

I'll be honest.

I cheated because I was with the wrong person at the time.

I was in love with a man that circumstances didn't allow me to date. So, instead, I dated a laundry list of guys that I liked but didn't really care about... and whenever he came into town (he travelled a lot), I would cheat on bf-of-the-month with him.

I'm not proud of it, but it taught me a lesson.... don't settle for someone you can't completely give your heart to. I hurt all of those guys because I was looking for someone to pass the time inbetween his visits.

(oh, and as it turns out... he wasn't travelling... he was MARRIED. Talk about karma. )

I move for a second! I agree! Before I would cheat I would just leave the relationship (on a good note just incase I wanted to come back), then again I wouldn't want to risk anything to the current relationship. If I wasn't happy I wouldn't cheat...I would just get to stepping. maybe it's just me

I have never cheated and I never will
BUT I have been cheated on....
His excuse was what was he supposed to do while I was 3 hours away. He has needs you know!!
The bummer in the situation was that I found out from some of my sisters because unfortunately he cheated with one of them. Of they knew nothing of me and this was year before I joined. They told me because they knew he did this a lot. When I confronted him he gave me the lame excuse above.
BYE-BYE Looser!!

That's they way it should be. Leave or try to work it out. There's no need for cheating.

My feeling is that the people who cheat are too afraid to face the problems in the relationship.

I have never cheated, and I never will. I have been the other woman and that was devestating enough for me.

I'm not real sure why he cheated but whatever the reason it really hurt =( There is no reason to cheat if you don't want to be with the person just break up with them. He told me he did it to see if he really loved me(u can find out u really love someone without cheating)
