BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHHA I was hoping I was not the only one who noticed. Good looking, SisterGreek.

CrimsonTide4 12-08-2003 02:02 PM

So because the IOTAS responded first, you are going to attempt to pledge them? :o

I am not questioning your integrity. It is not my place. There are a lot of folks who come on here or other avenues similar to this wanting to be ABC one day and then time goes on and they show up wanting to be DEF the next.

I know folks who have wanted to be GHI for yeeeeeeeeears and will not rest until they are GHI. But I guess maybe that is not the case for you.

devildog, you gotta see where my Soror and Sistergreek are coming from. I waited a mere 8 years for my 20 pearls, but AKA was my only option, and I'm sure my Soror and Sistergreek felt the same about their organization of choice. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to join Alpha Kappa Alpha as an undergrad, so I did what you don't want to do - joined a Graduate Chapter. Is there a reason why you're unwilling to wait until grad chapter to join? Do you just want some greek letters behind your name and on your chest? I'm not trying to embarrass you or anything, but I'm sure you've heard the saying "Anything worth having is worth waiting for". If you're willing to "bleed" for Omega, then you should be willing to wait. . .

Men of Iota, I mean no disrespect by this post - please do not take it as such.

abaici 12-08-2003 03:20 PM

First off, no disrespect to the wonderful men of Iota Phi Theta

DevilDog,

Sorry, I didn't "put you on blast"...you did. As my soror and sistagreek stated, I guess I made that comment because I don't understand. I've only wanted one thing. Sure, I conducted the obligatory research, but in my heart I knew what was right for me. To me, dedication does not waiver. If I dedicate myself to my husband because of my love for him and the qualities he possesses, I will not up and leave him if he makes me mad one day. So, my thinking is, if you love Omega and what they stand for a few roadblocks should not cause you to waiver.

But again, that's just me

The idea is: If being in XYZ Fraternity Inc. is in your heart, it's worth the wait. Membership is lifetime. Trust me, it will come in time. I didn't become a member of my sorority until 14 and a half years after I graduated from college.

RedMusiq4U 12-08-2003 11:01 PM

Ask yourself which org is really in your heart before you go ahead and join b/c it's for life, you can't get in the org, not like it, depledge and pledge another, I'm not blasting you I'm just giving you some food for thought. Before you make any unnecessary moves just ask yourself "Do I actually see myself as being apart of this org". Do some more soul searching before you join an org, and when you figure it out, learn all you can, talk to whomever, even if you don't recieve any phone calls, emails, what have you, be persistant. Go after what you want and I pray you find what you're looking for. Oh yeah and listen to Steeltrap it's worth the wait.

devildog 12-08-2003 11:08 PM

Thanks I sure will do some soul searching and look at myself to see if i see myself in an org good advice RED

Dude, there are enough Omegas and chapters of Omega in Chi-Town for you to go to an event or service project or to just meet an Omega on the street. Just blindly sending interest letters to a p.o box or email address means nothing. You have to KNOW somebody. If something is in your heart, it doesn't change based on what you have stated. Omega doesn't need any wishy washy members. Good luck on your search. Thanks for serving our country, and a true Marine would see it through.

Devil...listen to Doggystyle's advice. He actually told you exactly what you need to do and he didn't have to do that.

Fraternal organizations are not a "typical" business. You cannot compare the Marines to a Fraternity. They are two different animals.

Soror, I started to say that, but couldn't remember whom to give credit to for that cute phrase! I absolutely love it!
