Fraternal Relations ;)

I have not posted for awhile...and I've missed GreekChat! It's my second semester in ADPi and I was finally able to screen for offices...I ended up being appointed to Fraternal Relations Chair. Anyways....one of the aspects of our chapter that really needs some help with is our fraternal relations. Anybody have ideas? I was going to propose to our intramurals chairs that we have co-ed intramurals teams with fraternities that we don't typically swap with so we can meet new guys. Also, since officer transition is in February, I was thinking that one of my first activities as a new officer would be making valentines for each chapter, like one huge valentine signed by the sisters for each fraternity. We generally associate with the same 2 fraternities and want to change that...How should we go about trying to make our presence known with fraternities that don't know many of our sisters? I would love any suggestions from any fraternity men as well...

Vandy, I love your signature!

How many fraternities are there on campus? Which ones do the sisters want to get to know better? I like the Valentine idea, heart cookies would be good, too!

One thing we did was to try to establish one service project with each of the fraternities we really liked (obviously, not a huge campus!). We had one night with one fraternity at the local Juvenile Detention Center (the guys would play basketball, and we'd serve punch, cookies, and advice - most of those girls do NOT want to be there!). Another project was at Ronald McDonald with another fraternity, another at Children's Hospital (the fraternity's charity), and so on. Once you get a pattern of "Hey, it's October! We need to get our project with the XYZ's together!" you'll notice that, even if you don't particularly care for that fraternity, you'll look forward to the project.

Here's what I've come up with...

Because I dread finals so much, I always find some way to distract myself. I used the "Project Planning" portion in my planner(meant for classes, but why plan for those?) to outline my plans as FRC:

-Make Valentine's Day cookie heart cakes, and maybe give out can tab houses at the same time
-Pledge class kidnap-anyone done this? It's where the Alphas go and "kidnap" a fraternity's pledges and take them somewhere
-Ronald McDonald house dinner w/ Sigma Chi(our philanthropy chair has heard that the brothers have helped RMH in the past by giving food, etc.)
-Contact social chairs, and get information about spring parties to present at chapter each week, so sisters can plan to go together
-Contact social chairs
-Ask sisters to write down their contacts in each house

I have never even heard of the fraternal relations chair....is that an office EO requires for us....or just something added on?

Our chapter doesn't have a FR chair either? I think it might be one that has been added?
