pin on ebay

This AOII Pin is pretty with rubies in the Pi....I hope an AOII gets this one!

 Whoa, wouldn't I love to get that for ASLFRose!

AOIIalum 12-07-2003 10:52 AM

That's my all-time favorite style of badge!!!! Sigh!!! It's so gorgeous.

Bad thing is the auction still has 5 days to go. It'll be interesting to see just how much this one finally goes for.

PS--Carnation, if you decide to bid on it, let us know your screen name so we don't all outbid you. ASLFRose would adore that badge!

I think a collector got it, s/he has won other badges in recent days as well. :(

AOcutiePi4ever 12-25-2003 03:51 AM

whoaaa.... that badge on the ebay link olemissglitter posted looks very, very, VERY old!!! how old do you think it might be?? dannnggg... talk about history!

AOIIalum 12-25-2003 09:04 AM

Beryana's our resident historian, so I bet she can tell us!

From checking my handy dandy AOII history book, Phi chapter (Kansas) was chartered in 1918. I'll guess that establishes that most likely this badge is no older than that.

However...

There is no record of a member with that name....unless the member requested that her married name be used in the data base. Right now, there is no way to accurate data that badge...

How many Evelyn's are there? Is there a chance that some members are listed in the record? I have always wondered that...

AOIIsilver 01-03-2004 06:48 PM

However....

Sorry...I tried to find out about the badge....
The badge was checked using every possible combination of first andt last names as well as using only string letters of both....no matches...
What do you mean "the record"? Is there another source for info?
:)
Many roses and happy thoughts...

Silver, are you using the database on the website, or another we are not all allowed to access???

If it is the Sister's side of the site, they must actually have logged on to the internet site at some point to be listed. I know because there are many sisters that I know that do not appear when you do a search on either them, their chapter of initiation, or their city of residence.

If there is another source I'm not aware of please let me know. Thanks!

Silver- that is the datebase I was reffering to, the one Brandi mentioned. If there is another database, who is allowed to acces it and who isn't?

You can email headquarters. Email the receptionists and she can look it up for you, depending upon her work schedule. She has access to a big database up there that we do not have access to on our secret side. You can email her and she is pretty prompt at replying back. She has helped me in the past verify our legacies going through recruitment.

So I'm not online much and look what happens! LOL In reading the posts, I would have to say without actually seeing the back of the badge (to see the clasp, etc) it is really difficult to say if it is 90 years or 15 years old. All of the badges that I've seen have had dates on the back, at least the year. Looking at how orange the gold it I would have to say it is probably prior to 1950 rather than more recent as all our badges are more yellow than orange. . . if that makes sense!

Anyway, I have to run, get home, some last minute shopping, pack, and be to work at 5pm. Keep your fingers crossed as I have an interview in Indianapolis Wednesday morning for a flight attendant position!

Roses!

Sarah

P.S. Silver, I'm going to have to hold on the visiting - though the airline I'm interviewing with next week has a base in Knoxville so I might just MOVE down to TN. . . .

angelAOIIgirl 01-05-2004 06:44 PM

thank ya much

thanks OleMiss- I think that I just might look into that. I wonder what other information that lady holds....
