Trip to London!
Howdy Ladies! I was wondering if any of you have been to London and could give me some insight as to the best places to see, hang out, etc. I will be going there from Dec. 26-Jan.8 for an upper division English Class (Mondern Theatre). Thanks!

babyhootie goes to London
London is a fabulous place -- lots to do. I spent 6 weeks there in graduate school in the summer of 1988. You'll have a blast.
Must sees: Westminster Abbey St. Paul's Cathedral Tower of London Harrod's Dept. Store National Gallery Tate Gallery British Museum Other cool things: Transportation Museum Old Bailey Victoria & Albert Museum Jack the Ripper tour of Whitechapel Fortnum & Mason (shop for British souvenirs) National Portrait Gallery theater (2nd only to Broadway) War Cabinet Rooms Wimbledon Samuel Johnson said it best in 1777 when he described the city thus: "when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life, for there is in London all that life can afford." |
update of trip
ugh... i miss the USA so much! I am sooo pooped! I feel like I have seen everything in the UK... hehehehe
I have visited all the normal tourist-y places... visited the United Grand Lodge of England today..... planning to see six plays..... um... what else... oh yeah.... stonehenge.... just a bunch of rocks in the middle of po-dunk nowhere. right now I am in a 'net cafe underneath Burger King. hehehe I miss my sisters... especially my Big... I bought lots of owl stuff over here for her, too. hmm... what else? Oh, I totally have a crush on Tony Blair (eventhough his politics don't quite line up with mine) and have visited his place on Downing Street like... a million times! hahahaha Thanks for all the suggestions for places to go!!! |
Have FUN and take it all in. I wish I could travel to some place foreign!
