"Remember the Alamo" on History Channel
The History Channel is showing a documentary about the "real" people at the Alamo. How the Texans essentially stole Texas from Mexico and the folks in the Alamo just wanted to "live profitably".
This is mostly a question for our Texan members. Is there a lot of contraversy in the Lone Star State about this documentary? |

The Daughters of the Republic of Texas are the fiercest defenders and custodians of the Shrine to Texas independence - the only other organization allowed to use the chapel of the Alamo is the Grand Lodge of Texas Masons. Twice a year, the Grand Master of Masons in Texas leads a processional from the Scottish Rite Cathedral in San Antonio to the Alamo (only about a block or two away). Inside the chapel, the Masons have a re-obligation ceremony. Having participated in one, it's a very moving ceremony. |
