Alpha Phiesta Week Ideas?
 

Hey sisters! Wow, it's been way too long since I've been on here! Did you all miss me? Heehehee!

Anyway, we just had elections and I am the new Vice Pres of Marketing! YAY! So I'm in charge of planning all of our Alpha Phiesta Week activities. I have some things in mind, but does anyone have any great ideas to get the university and community involved and make the week successful?

What is Alpha Phiesta? The only time I've seen Phiesta is in rush parties. Congrats on the new position!

Alpha Phiesta Week is always held the week of Valentines day every year. It is a huge extraveganza of activities to raise money for cardiac care. Last year we raised $1100 which was really great for our small chapter. This year, since I'm in charge, I plan to beat that! We'll see. But I would love some good fund raising activities we can do!

Wow that is a terrific amount for any chapter to raise!!

What sort of events do you do now??

We do lots of little activities throughout the week, but the main two events are Star Search and Mr. Alpha Phiesta.

Star Search is a huge talent show on campus. Anyone can compete and we have judges and prizes for the winners. It's kinda like American Idol, only with more talents than just singing.

Mr. Alpha Phiesta is a pageant for guys. It's just like Miss America, well, kind of, only with more testosterone and comedy. There's categories like Talent, Evening Wear, Athletic/Swim Wear, and onstage interview question. It always turns out to be so funny! We get anywhere from 10-20 guys to be in it and they are hilarious.

Those two events usually rack in the most money. But I am still looking for lots of ideas, both big and small. Any advice is well appreciated! Thanks!
