Taking another course-suggestions?

Okay, here's the thing. My school requires that we take a certain amount of religion and philosophy courses. I've decided not to do a show this semester so I can concentrate on schoolwork and take a night course to bump up my total to 18 hours this coming semester.

So I've found two religion courses that look interesting. One is an "Old Testament as Literature" course, which my mom recommended to take because it's really interesting. The other is "Women in the Christian Tradition", which according to the blurb, studies historical subordination of women in the Christian church.

Any suggestions?

We have courses with exactly the same titles - must be the Jesuit thing. ;)

I haven't taken either of them, and obviously it wouldn't be at your school - but I would talk to some friends and see if you guys have a course review before taking the Women in the Christian Tradition one. From what I've heard, it's fabulous with one prof and awful with another because she just wants to beat on men all the time.

I took classes which were much like the titles you mentioned. I loved both of them, but I found the Women in Christian History to be very interesting. We studied a lot of ladies that I had never heard of, so it was different than just reading verses you may have read many times before. Plus, at my school, they emphasized that Christian women do not have to be meek, mild and subservient at all times.

Which ever course you decide to take, I am sure it will be a good choice.
