Wearing Letters and Mixer Shirts Question
Recently our social chair was told that we are not allowed to make mixer shirts with our acutal lettrers on them because that would be allowing a guy to wear our letters. Does anyone else enforce this rule?? Becuase I ALWAYS see shirts from mixers/events that have two organizations letters on them. How does this compare to letting uninitated members (for example new members/pledges) wear letters on say for example a bid day shirt? Any insight??

I think your social chair is being needlessly anal. As long as it's TKE-PM (or whoever the mixer is with) it's going to be obvious that the guy isn't perping your letters. Think of how many girls wear Sigma Chi letters on Derby Daze shirts and such.

by that logic you shouldn't have those all greek/panhel shirts with all the glo's letters on it.

I don't know... we don't allow guys to wear our shirts with letters. I guess part of it has to do with how emphatic our founder Bettie Locke was about not wearing Fiji letters. Or maybe we're just an overly anal chapter. ;)

I have never heard of this...girls wear guys' letters all the time. I have gotten bf's Phi Mu shorts and hats.

No, I believe she meant the Greek Letters.
So, instead of QDC FM Mixer better be Theta Delta Chi and Phi Mu Mixer Spelled out letters does not mean THE letter. Hope this clarifies. ;) |
as long as it is spelled out of typed greek letters, its okay. the only problem comes in when it is the sewn greek letters, like the 4'' ones everyone wears or something similar to that. but as long as it is screenprinted, its usually okay. all of our homecoming shirts and all have the greek letters on them of whoever is with us as well as ours, and thats the same with everyone one my campus and all the other campus i have greek friends at.
