I need help in NY.. again
 

Hi Sorors, SisterfFriends, Fellow Greeks...
About a month ago I moved to NY. I moved from Pa and it is verrrry difficult to find affordable housing in NY. So a woman I worked with decided to do me a favor and let me stay with her until I can find an apartment. While I truly appreciate what she has done... I am ready to move... like yesterday. Our lifestyles don't match (she doesn't want any visitors... period). Now keep in mind I am not living there free of charge. What I am paying there can pay for a small one bedroom or a studio... including utilities. So I tell you all this to ask anyone in NY... do you know of any apartments in NY.. or someone who needs a younger roommate? ANY help would be appreciated. Thank you!!! :-)

Hello Sister Greek!
Try contacting the Black United Fund and the Abyssinian Development corp. Both organizations own a ton of affordable housing in NYC. Also, The Amsterdam News and Loot usually have a number of listings of up and coming developments being built where you may be able to get in. I know its hard. I live in NYC. Good luck with your search!

Soror, I know of someone who is looking for a roomate ASAP. She lives in Park Slope Brooklyn and I've known her practically all my life.
