We did the Triangle Achievment Award last summer/fall. we gave 3 three $500 awards to qualified applicants. We spent alot also on copies and stamps to mail out the applications. We gave the award durring the newmember program to the top 3 new members and we used the money to pay there initiation fee for them. It was kinda of expencive and we dont know how to use it properly so i think we r going to reduce it to one $500 award and see how many replies we get from word of mouth and our website, instead of sending every frosh an application.
Hope that helps. YITB Vinnie |
we did it this summer and had pretty good success with it
we pretty much followed the guidelines set by Southern Cal. Letters sent to high school guidance councelors by March, deadline for scholarship applications in May, meet with finalists during summer orientation (including house tours and banquet for family) then announcement of winners right before rush started. in this, our first year, we received over 150 applications and narrowed it down to 30 solid candidates. we ended up with 15 pledges and i think 5 were from TAP. awards were $1500, $1000 and $500, since we had a lot of money carried over from the previous semester. mailing costs, awards, banquet, and other expenses equalled about $5000. with the 5 pledges we got from this program, we made back our investment. we already selected the TAP chairman and board for this upcoming summer and calls will be made to high schools shortly. any questions, feel free to IM me @ ncstatetke, as I was on the board this past summer |
thanx for your help guys
