Slating/Elections
just had my first brush with Slating/Elections. OMG what an ordeal...How do you all do it? This chapter apparently slates by class and then forms another commttee to view results and narrow the list and they then vote the following week. Is that how it is for everyone?

What you are decribing is the class caucus system and every chapter uses one of three variations as set forth in the Leadership Transition Manual.
The class caucuses don't actually create slates, rather, they brainstorm names for the nominations committee who then generates the slate. |

OK i see! This is the first time i've ever seen elections run this way. It's *new*...very different. Thanks for the explaination, though.

Yeah, that's how we've been doing it the past 2 years.
I got to run Nominations Committee this year... all I can say is whoa. |
