What Are You Thankful For?

Hey Sisters (And welcome board-crashers!),

With Thanksgiving in two days, I thought it might be nice to share what we are thankful for this year. Thanksgiving is turning into one of my favorite holidays, and the poor thing always gets lumped in with Christmas and kind of glossed over in the rush between Halloween and Christmas. So I thought it would be nice if we took a moment to say what we are thankful for. (To the sisters whom I emailed this to, sorry for the repeat :-p)

I'm thankful for:

~ My kindred spirits. My best friends who have infinite patience with me when I whine about how much I hate my life and boys, etc. But they're always there for me no matter what. Thanks guys.

~ For sisters who know that even when I'm pissy and crabby, it'll go away and the bond of sisterhood is thicker than petty squabbles.

~ That my Little Sister is (relatively) alright after having a terrible car accident last week. I honestly don't know what I would do without her. (I'll stop here before I get too sentimental.)

~ That my ex-boyfriend came back from Kuwait/Iraq safely for the second year in a row. Somebody up there likes him, even if we don't talk anymore ;-)

~ For my parents who continue to let me live at home while I figure my life out.

~ For all the complete jerks (this was much more colorful in the email I sent to my non-sister friends ;-) ) who have come into, and gone out of my life this year. They've taught me what I will and will not stand for as a woman, and as a human being.

~ For beautiful weather, and thunderstorms and sunny days, and good times with friends, and laughter and snow and the ocean and Celtic Fling and theater and warm summer nights.

I am thankful that my brother is safe. He is in Korea right now. That my grandmother is in remission. ANd that I have found the strength to except the things I can not change. And some how surpassed all these trials in my life.

Hi, I am a board crasher, great topic.

I am thank full for my family. My dad found out in June that he has lung/bone/kidney cancer: he is now doing really good. The cancer has shrunk about 35% between July and October, and he as another CAT and MRI and PET scheduled. Also this is the first year in five years that my brother (the marine) will be home for the holidays.

I am thank full for my friends, even though they are 2,200 miles away (I used to live in AZ, now I am in GA) I love them very much and could not deal with out them.

For this I give thanks.

Christia

It's a little past Thanksgiving, but I'm still thankful for this...

I'm thankful for every single person I've encountered in my life thus far. Each person has had a certain influence on something I've done. Or something someone said may have impacted my life in one way or another. There are many people who I've met who I don't keep in contact with anymore, but I am thankful for them because they've helped me at some point along the road I'm travelling. So that is what I am thankful for.

I know I'm thankful for many other things, but I just had to let you know that I'm thankful for having others in my life.
