Any tips to offer?
I'm gathering info for a presentation on rush. Any tips for those who are shy on how to talk to Prospective New Members?
Favorite getting to know you questions? |
Can you be specific? I have tons of tips on many areas. Do you tips for FR or COB? Do you need them for conversation,or ideas for events? Have you contacted your RC-Recruitment Counsultant? I know she has tons of ideas to share as well.
You could pm me and I can get you LOTS of info! |
clarification
I'm posting here in case anyone else needs the clarification. Mostly formal rush, but also COB conversation. They have event ideas.
This is for a chapter without a Recruitment Advisor at the moment. |
This is not so much questions they should ask, but more like a game plan.
I was shy but I became better at social settings because of Rush, I think it's best for the shy person to try to make the people they talk to laugh. Whether it be a comment on current events, a teacher, classes etc. the key is to make the conversation as likeable and fluid as possible. Doing this sets the shy person and the PNM at ease, it makes the interaction more enjoyable, and the shy person relaxes the nerves she gets and then she becomes more talkative. This skill carries over into work after college; I found it immensely helpful in most cases. Not to mention, the more you practice, the easier it becomes to just be yourself. |
