Beauty Talk
Even though I was born beautiful http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/tongue.gif, I find myself constantly playing with new hair, nail, and skin potions on the market. I thought it would be nice to share our favorite beauty secrets, products, and tips. How do you ladies keep yourselves looking (and more importantly FEELING) beautiful.
I'll start off. 1. Taking vitamin supplements can help your hair and nail growth. I have really seen results since I started taking them daily 2 years ago. 2. Avoid petroleum & mineral oil based products. It doesn't matter if you hair is permed, natural, or texurized. They coat the hair shaft and keep moisture from getting into the hair cuticle and are hard to wash off. 3. Garden Botanika makes an incredible line of spa style treatments called "Spa Botankia". Try their bath salts of you want smooth, supple, glowing skin. Hint: Get exotic and give yourself and Japanese Bath. Take a quick shower with a strong soap to get off all the surface dirt. Soak in a tub with for as long as you want and then rinse in the shower. 4. Hair Oils/Sheens that come in pumps are great alternatives to the spray-on sheens because they don't contain propane and butane. 4. A facial or exfoliating scrub once a week can make all the difference! Sometimes you don't notice how much dead skin is just sitting on your face until you take it off. 5. Smile! |

"Helpful Tips" "Skin Care" Just to name a couple that I found from months ago... |

I am the same way -- always playing. But when it comes down to it, I seem to fair better with the less products I use. Clinique soap and some witch hazel keep my skin clear and glowing. Any make up I put on seems to dull my skin. Corn Meal keeps the skin on my body smooth (scrub in the shower). You probably wouldn't care too much what I do with my hair http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif But I think, Poplife, you left the best advice: SMILE. Attitude can make all the difference when it comes to beauty! [This message has been edited by Asia2000 (edited February 13, 2001).] |
Beauty Tips and Pick Me Ups
Hey everybody! What are some your beauty tips and pick me ups?
1. I have real dry skin so after a bath or shower I apply baby oil or cocoa butter to soften my skin. Shea butter is good too! 2. I bought myself a pedicure set. When I have tired, cracked feet (Yes I said cracked:) I put my feet in a Peppermint based foot soak. 3. In the winter, I apply Vaseline or some type of lotion to my feet then slip on some warm socks so it can melt into my feet. 4. I soothe tired eyes with warm chamomile tea bags. 5. I put a carrot oil and mayonaisse mixture in my hair to deep condition it between hair appointments. 6. I try to sleep with a scarf on (it always falls off lol) 7. Sometimes I use a clay masque (You should see the way my cat looks at me) to get all the impurities out. 8 Sometimes I use a facial scrub to exfoliate dead cells. 9. Last but not least, I make sure I talk to my Heavenly Father at least twice a day. Well here are some of mine. What are some of yours? Fellas don't be shy post yours too :) BYE NOW! |

This can be applied ALL YEAR 'ROUND, especially for those who do not get pedicures. This will ensure that one's heels does not look as if they have been kicking bricks! |
Kickin' bricks lol

I'm 21 and people always tell me I look around 15, 16 because I continue to have my baby face.
I really don't do anything that much to keep my baby soft looking skin. I got and continue to get pimples like normal teenagers and when I did I would wash my face with Noxzema (now Sensitive Skin) and then apply the Vaseline Intensive Car lotion. As far as my hair products, I'm pretty basic. I use the same line from perms down to hair grease. TCB. I use their perms, shampoos, conditioner, and hair grease. This keeps my hair healthy for the most part. I have split ends though and only get them cut when I have time to go to the hair dresser (which is about twice a year). I usually go when I have a special event coming up. Oh yeah, when I wear makeup which is almost every Sunday I try to wash it off with the Noxzema. |
