AKAs and Informationals

Hello ladies,
I have noticed that at my scool, that the AKAs as well as the Deltas do not hold "informationals." They will have different type of programs, some at which they give out certain information, but their programs are never titled "informationals." I have one the other hand seen plenty of Zeta Phi Beta and Sigma Gamma Rho informational signs. Does anyone know the reason for that, why some AKAs and Deltas don't advertise them as "informationals" while other do? Or maybe it's just at my school. Just wondering.

QUESTION...

Does it matter what labels are used as long as the information is delivered/presented/disseminated to those interested?

MissPdiva 01-31-2001 08:11 PM

No, they don't call them teas or socials. They have alot of siminars. It doesn't really matter what they call it, but I just found it kind of odd that other sororities call them "informationals."

AKA2D '91 01-31-2001 08:34 PM

Why is it odd?

There are FOUR DIFFERENT organizations that exist, which have DIFFERENT titles/labels for many activities, etc. so it really should not be THAT odd...

We do not operate ENTIRELY the same...okay? http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif

Why do you want to know? Do you want to gain membership into a sorority? Really, why should you care what they are called, just as long as you get the information you seek... That's what you are suppose to figure out on your own before you come to anybody's "informational", "seminar", "tea" or RUSH...

Yes, I am intersted in Alpha Kappa Alpha and I was simply stating that I found it interesting that the AKAs at my chapter call them different names. I know that it does not make a difference. I was just stating a fact!!

AKA_Monet 02-09-2001 02:48 AM

Be careful what you say on this board because MY soror, AKA2D'91 http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif (Soror, you are just too tight!) will shut your topic down. She's and LadyAKA told you that you'd want to be doing a search on this board... You need to ask yourself why would they care to even tell your this???

Whatever you post upon here can be traced back to where you are...

AKAtude 02-09-2001 10:22 AM

MissPDiva, I deleted one of your posts in this thread because I did not like the tone you were taking with my Soror AKA_Monet. I think you need an attitude adjustment. My advice to you come back when you are in a better mood.

You know sorors...

If we don't respond to certain things, then they won't be issues.

I am constantly amazed by the "tone and timbre" that certain interests take on public internet forums, but we as sorors don't need to get in a lather about this--we can simply choose to ignore what we don't approve of, at least in this forum...

AKA2D '91 02-09-2001 06:40 PM

Now Soror (AKAtude), why in the WORLD did you delete a post B4 I could see it?

Ya'll know I don't come on-line until AFTER I get home from work.

Now, I 'done' missed all the good YA-YA! LOL http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif (yeah I said DONE http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif)

Re: AKAs and Informationals

First of all why are you on an AKA board asking questions that include Delta, when you stated that your interest is AKA. Did you think that would make your question more validated.
Second, lawddd whatever happened to being humble.
I'm sure the wonderful ladies of AKA will deal with you...
