Any Marietta Chi Os?
 

I have a friend at Marietta College (University?) in Ohio, and he said that last night someone stole the "Chi" from "Chi Omega" off of the girl's house up there. Since now it only says "Omega" all the girls have to dress in black until the "Chi" gets replaced. This makes sense to me, since Omega is the chapter for our deceased members, but I was curious if this was a common practice/policy in this situation, or if anyone had ever heard of this before???:confused: If there are any girls from there on here, I hope you get your "Chi" back!

Um, the dressing in black sounds a little silly to me! Just because the lost the Chi does not make them the Omega chapter! The Omega chapter is a just that, a chapter of Chi Omega. Just like I was Pi Zeta chapter. Losing the Chi from the sign doesn't change their chapter affiliation (or the fact that they are Chi Os for that matter!). I cannot say for sure, although I'm sure NutBrn will know, I HIGHLY doubt this is a national policy and I think these girls should check with their advisors. And if they are that cooncerned they should just take down the Omega until they can replace the Chi! :rolleyes:

I agree with xo_kathy 100%. I would advise them to replace the sign ASAP (or remove the Omega for the time being) and wear any color of clothing they wish!!! I've never been very tolerant of fraternity "pranks" which involve stealing and I certainly don't agree with the notion that someone taking part of our sign should dictate in any way what we wear.
