We just had our consultant visit our chapter last week. And she is from a town that is about 15-20 minutes away from my hometown. I thought that this was very interesting, considering the fact that I go to school in Maine, and my hometown is in Illinois.

Ooh, did Emily visit you? She came to visit my chapter a few weeks ago. The Chapter Consultants travel in specific areas of the country, but that doesn't always mean they stay around their hometown or the town where their college was located. . . . Speaking of which, I'm applying to be a CC... wish me luck! :) <--- (pretend that's a nervous face)

Yep...it was Emily. And I understand that she travels to a specific region and all. I was just saying that her hometown where she grew up and went to high school is near my hometown, which is nowhere near the college she attended....

And being in Maine, you don't meet people often from your area, so it was extra special.

Good luck on your interview/journey to becoming a chapter consultant :) I applied 2 years ago and made it to the 2nd interview (didn't get the job though :( ) so please feel free to PM me if you have any questions!

Areas and travel
 

Hi Erica!

FYI, consultants while not restricted to an area tend to travel in one of three : Area 1 ( Northeast, Midwest )
Area 2 ( Midatlantic and south) And Area 3 ( Southwest and West Coast). Depending on developments in one area or another, they can overlap.

Though they do not always come from the area they serve, sometimes it works out that way. Emily happens to be from Area 1 and traveling in area 1. Hope you had a good time with her!

AHHHHHH Emily P. is my "grandma"!!! I miss her so much, school has been hard without grandma this year, but I know she's having a blast as a consultant and I know she does a FABULOUS job. Yall are sooooo lucky to have had her, we miss her terribly at Mizzou!!!!

We have had Shannon from Purdue all semester, but I know she's gone to a few other chapters. Anyone else had her?? Logan also came for a couple of days and she was just awesome!!!
