Can't find original thread so here goes
Can't find original thread where this post should go so I have to start a new thread to ask the question. I used the search function but couldn't find it - it was far from controversial :)
A while back I asked about smoothie recipes and everyone was really helpful. One person near the top of the thread posted some links to some recipes (on a military site I think); it might have been docetboy but I'm not sure? Anyway, the recipe stipulated "one spoon of vanilla" (think it was that amount from memory). It might sound like a stupid question but I wanted to know if anyone knew if they mean vanilla ice cream, powdered vanilla pods, vanilla essence or what? Thanks. |
i'm going to guess that they meant vanilla extract. but who knows, i could be wrong.

I agree with mu_agd - I think they mean the vanilla that comes in a little brown bottle.

Thank you. I now found the original thread, http://forums.greekchat.com/gcforums...threadid=40932 it didn't come up when I searched for smoothies but I finally remembered it was docetboy who posted the links to all those helpful sites in it so I searched for all posts by him & found the thread that way. Anyway, the recipe he pointed me to is found at: http://www.dcmilitary.com/army/pentagram/8_29/health/
Now y'all are able to view the vanilla item in the context of the entire recipe, is it still vanilla essence you think they are referring to? Wouldn't want to waste to waste the rest of ingredients if I get it wrong. Look forward to response - can't wait to make them! :D |
It's definitely the vanilla we were talking about - I can't think of any other kind of vanilla that comes in teaspoons. Those do sound really yummy! :)

Vanilla would mean vanilla extract. You get it in the spice section of SAFEWAY. I don't know what vanilla "essence" is, but I suspect the same thing.
