Help!! Messed up Email

My email account with ASU is completely screwed up. Not only is everything I have ever saved gone, I'm also not recieving emails at all. I'm so annoyed and I don't know what to do! I sent an email to the help desk but no one has responded! What should I do? Does anyone know why this would happen and what I can do?

Problem with their mail server I'd guess. Shouldn't think it's you. I'd check to see if anyone else if having the same problems. Chances are they are and it's being worked on. As for the loss of the saved stuff, it's most likely they'll be able to restore from backups if your access to them isn't restored when they reboot the mail server or whatever it is they need to do. Won't be anything you've done. You can go to or phone the helpdesk if you need reassurance but I'm sure they'll try to have everyone's account fixed in double quick time.

Agreed, it's probably the mail server, especially if other people are having problems too. In that case, your email to the help desk might not have been received - or if it was received, they probably have their hands full resolving the issue and can't take the time to respond.

If you're the only person having trouble, something may be up with your computer. Did you recently install any new hardware or software onto your computer? Can you access your email from other people's machines?

aephi alum makes really good points, a good idea is to check if you can access from other people's machines. As well as regular access via your email program, did you try the online webmail interface for ASU too (Web-based E-mail (EMMA) )? Perhaps that's what you were already using. Apologies if I have the wrong ASU in that link!
