Zonkeys and Ligers and Tigons, oh my
This pumpkin farm near my school has a zonkey (zebra/donkey cross) that they let people come see. How weird looking!!! The farmer said he got him from some Amish people--that the Amish are really into crossing various animals. (Huh? The Amish?)
Has anyone else heard that? And has anyone seen other crosses, like ligers and tigons? |
[joke]
It's better than in the south, where they cross humans and pigs. [/joke] |
I read the title and thought someone had been having a TGIF BOTTOMS UP PARTY, but alas. . . :p

I have heard of ligers and tigons, but not wolphins and zonkeys! Strange!
 |
I saw the wholphin at Sea Life Park in Honolulu a few years back. He was short and black! The zonkey had the body and features of a donkey but the striped pattern of a zebra.

I've heard of them, but I've never actually seen one :(

Darn, those Amish are some kinky folks!

LoL, KR!!!!

Our daughter, who is now a commercial artist, used to draw a really cute little cartoon type character when she was young. She called it a Tigon.

I really doubt that the Amish were being the cross breeding. From what I understand, they don't even mix fabrics (ie: cotton & wool, linen & wool, etc), because of something it says in the Bible about not mixing things. I could be really off base, though. [/party pooper] |
Zonkey's are mean...
A girl in my dorm freshman year was drunk and walked up to one that some locals had on their farm and tried to pet it... it bit her finger off... I kinda have to laugh about it... it's a funny story |

This is scary! It is the result of breeding a Jungle Cat with a Domesticated Cat.
