"Stage Moms"
 

Has anyone seen this show? It's freakin ridiculous how obnoxious (and in some cases, talentless) these kids are. And if my mom had EVER treated me like some of these mothers treat their children, I would have run away. I think this is just another way in which people are trying to prevent kids from being kids. Not everyone is exceptional. I wish more people (and especially more parents) would accept this.

I used to model when I lived in Hawaii. Don't even get me STARTED on stage moms. They're another form of the obsessed kind of cheerleader moms.

Or sorority rush moms....

My freshman year roommate's mom was a "rush mom". 'Bout drove me nuts.

Pageant moms, anyone? They're a trip.

I did theater a lot of the way through school, and danced for 14 years. I've seen pleanty of stage moms.

I live by the world arena, and here, they have the ice-skating moms... it makes me want to cry to see how they yell at their tiny little girls who are freezing their a$$es off on the ice at 5:00 am while the moms are all bundled up drinking their lattes from the stands.

Then you have internet moms...you know, the ones who encourage their daughters to publish lies and isht on a website. :rolleyes:

I used to model when I was younger and I saw a lot of stage moms... luckily my mom was never one... it was just something I enjoyed doing... one of the reasons I even quit was because my mom didn't want me to leave early from school to go on auditions.

Whats up with them anyway?

Do the mom's even see the kids as seperate from themselves? Do they just live vicariously through the kid?

OR do they really think that the kids success or failure somehow reflects on them?

They just need lives.

I saw that show and was appalled at the mothers. I wonder if they were living their dreams through their poor kids!

I have also seen documentaries about these little girls who participate in these beauty pageants and I want to scream. These little girls who are made and dressed to look like either grown women or dolls. I don't understand their parents' motives for doing this to their daughters. GRRRR!
