Trying to save myself money
I'm thinking about moving back into the dorms for my last semester/year to save myself money. Since moving off campus I have not been able to save any money yet.
Has anyone moved back into the dorms to save themselves more money? I really do not want to I would really like to get an apartment close to down town. |
Technically living off campus is cheaper in most place. The only problem is with that extra money people are tempted to spend it on fast food and other things instead of eatting at home.

Actually i think it depends on where you are. Where i sused to go, living off campus or living in greek housing was cheaper than living in the dorms.
Where i go to school now, it actually works out cheaper to live in the dorms than an apartment, even with roommates I was a late bloomer getting to the sorority floor at my school, and actually moved up there last year. I dont live up there presently, but it wasnt near as bad as i thought it was going to be, but I also paid extra for a private room too. |

You can save money if have good cool friendly room mates by taking turns buying groceries (except for special things like chicken and healthy choice) for example if you want healthy choice do not put on list for whole apt, just buy it and tell no one to eat it and then everyone does that and then you get food you want but also some things like milk, bread, cheese, etc. is for anyone. If you can't cook but fast food = $ & fat ass, then get lean quinece, they're like a compromise between being broke and too busy to dinner |
Live with roommates!
Split all costs! Make sure that is understood! Period! Hell, lived with 2 other guys in an apartment above a house! Hell we ate good!! Better than Student center! Parents brought care packages down too!:D |
If anything, living on campus was cheaper for me 'cause I didn't pay utilities and maintenance things (like TP, Lysol, light bulbs).
Not everyone can do the roommate thing as well as others can--and sometimes it's just not a very viable situation. I know that at this age, I am over the roomie thing (unless it's Boy). |
In general, living off campus is supposed to be MUCH cheaper BUT then again their are many extra costs. Living off campus means payments on the apratment, food(particaly fast food), utilities etc.
If I could do it all again I would have stayed on campus. It has cost me much more than I spent my freshman year and now that I am off campus Im defianlly paying for it. |
