My Netscape Won't Read Greek
I have a minor problem that I hope someone can help me solve.
I recently upgraded to the most recent version of Netscape. I also use Netscape Composer to make my chapter's website. On my old Netscape, I had no problems viewing text that was Greek (I think "symbol" is the name of the font). Now, on my chapter's website and here on GC, everything that is supposed to be greek letters shows up as it's roman transliteration. FOr example, APhiA becomes AFA; Sigma Nu becomes SN. Does anyone know how I can fix my Netscape so that it views the fonts correctly? |
my netscape does the same thing.
What you could do is make the Greek letters a .GIF file (image) so they will always look greek no matter what browser visitors use |
You can also do the following to show greek letters:
&[greek letter ]; So & Alpha ; (delete the spaces) would display Α, & Delta ; would display Δ, etc. Using all lower case letters would display lower case greek letters. |

Sorry, I don't have a constructive answer to give you. :) |
See this thread for a possible solution. I can't verify whether it works.

Wow!
I downloaded Netscape after reading your post, Senustret I, to see if I could duplicate the prob & work out how to fix it (not as big a thing as it sounds, I'm on a v. fast connection). Despite trying lots of things and searching webpages for solutions I didn't manage to get the symbols displaying correctly. I then tried Sistermadly's suggestion in that thread and re-opened Navigator. Result, everything displays perfectly.

It doesn't work on Safari, either. But, IE is just fine.

It worked!!!!!! Holla!
Thanks, sistermadly! And thanks everyone else, even jonsagara, lol. :D |
Glad I could finally make myself useful around GC.. :D
