Spring Recruitment
 

Hi girls! I'm new to the site. I go to Marist College in Poughkeepsie NY and no one has ever been on here. I will be the new Recruitment Director this spring and next fall and I was wondering if anyone had good ideas for our rush rooms?

We don't have houses on campus, so all of us have formal recruitment in rooms in our student center. So our rooms need to be fun and exciting because we lost about 16 seniors last year when they all graduated and we are down to 24 (including the new members coming in). So aTny ideas would be a great help!

Go for a Hawaiian or Luau theme for one of the days. We did this the past couple of years and it was a hit. This year we also changed the room for second day to a Hollywood theme, it was a lot of work to seitch the room halfway through recruitment, but it was well owrth it because all of the pnm's were impressed we took that effort. I'll put what we wore for each day below.

Hawaiian:
khaki pants or capris
brown sandals
Bid day shirt or bright letter shirt, depending on how many days you have for recruitment.

Hollywood:
white or black dress top
black or white pants
(example: wear white top with black pants; black top with white pants;)
black sandals

Pref:
Our chapter traditionally wears black dresses and shoes for pref.

i thought i would give some ideas that we use here
we usually have a movie night... where we show a slide show of the past years ( you can make it in powerpoint) have the room decorated with movie posters, which you can get from a local movie store...all they do with them after they take them down from display is throw them away...serve popcorn if you can have food..
we also have done a sigma perk (coffee house type)
dressed in white tops and black pants... we had a game that one of the girls made up to tell you what kinda coffee you are. we had pillows and blankets on the floor for a more relax setting
this year we are having a mardi gras party and a 70's party
