A call to all brothers who may be able to help.
 

We here at the University of Arkansas are in dire need of a House Mom and chef for our newly rennovated house. The university has allowed us to live in the house without a "Resident Director" for this semester, but we definately must have one of next semester. So my plea is this, if any of you know anyone who might have been or is considering becoming a House Mom for a house, please let me know.

While I dont know of one, maybe try to advertise on the bulliten boards on campus (you wouldn't have to list the fraternity name, for discrection, maybe something along the lines of "Attention Grad Students: Free Rent" and a few details and a phone numer for more info. Also try maybe seeign if the sororities know any of their alums who might be willing to do so? Maybe talk to the area Panhellenic Assn. The school could put you in touch with the president. Jsut a few thoughts and good luck.

This is a tough one.

Can't help you with a cook. I guess just go out and hire one. One thought would be to contact some of the social service agencies like Goodwill and the like. They may have someone coming out of a vocational program that needs a job. they need a job and you need a cook. Could be a match.

With respect to a House mom, never had to find one of those before. I know that in the early eighties, SMU had a graduate student couple that lived inthe house and the arrangement seemed to work.

Another possibility is to arrange to meet with the Housemothers of the other fraternities, explain that you need to find one, and ask them if they have any suggestions. One of them may know of someone. Be sure to clear the meeting with the other house first so that it does not appear that you are 'poaching' their Housemother.
