That's North American Food Drive.
My guys at Florida Tech have informed me that IHQ set a goal for each chapter to collect 8,500 lbs, of food; they set their own goal at 10,000 lbs. Perhaps it's better in their own words... Brothers - Today was bag pick up. As you can tell by the time stamp on this e-mail...it's been a long day. However, I am happy to report that 12,917 pounds of food made its way to the Brevard Sharing Center. That doesn't include all the houses we may have missed today (I know of at least 3 definately). If I'm not mistaken, that's a new record for us. Now, I'm outta here cuz I'm exhausted. Sharky Once again Sharky has beaten me to it. The only thing that I will add is about our goals. National headquarters set a goal of 8,500 pounds of food for all chapters across the US. Beta Nu Zeta set our own goal at 10,000 pounds of food. Guess what, we beat them both. I dedicate today to my grandmother who sadly passed away this morning. My parents told me to stay in Melbourne for now and do the food drive. She said that it was what my grandmother would have wanted. I told most of the brothers this morning that I wanted to reach that goal of 10,000 for her and we did. I know she is smiling down upon us all. I am truly proud to be a Lambda Chi. Rob ...yeah Rob, me too! I'd like to hear the results from other chapters around the country and Canada. How did we all do this year overall? I hear some is being sent to Southern California for all the people displaced due to the wildfires. It's great that Lambda Chi can make a difference at times like this. |
Congrats man. Inspiring story.
Phi-Upsilon Zeta raised 53,000 lbs of food. They didnt reach their goal, but it was a good effort and I am proud of them. |
God what a great thing to hear!:)
Congratulations to one of My Favorite Zetas B N, my adoptive Zeta, and to the Phi-Upsilon Zeta on a Fantastic Job! Jono, Andy, You Guys must be very Proud! |
UC Riverside New Chapter Record
As a 7 year old chapter, Delta Nu Zeta broke its 2002 Chapter Record of 9,225 lbs of food with 20,000 pounds of food this year! The donations went to the Southern California victims from the recent wildfires.
We found out from a Boy Scout Leader at the Salvation Army collection station that he was a Biology Professor at UCR and we were the ONLY student organization to donate anything to help the victims! Yours in ZAX Delta Nu 098 |
im not sure what we got this year, b/c its a rebuilding year for how we raise food for nafd, so i think were gonna have around 50-75 thousand pounds, but next year our goal is 250-300 thousand pounds. i hope we can do it!
