Who is watching this crazy (no pun intended) footage of the CA shooter on Fox. The lawyer is the luckiest man I have ever seen.... Oh my gosh. THIS, my friends, is what you call a special report...

No TV set at work. (we only build TV stations, not watch them) What's the story about?

Yeah, I saw it the story the next day on The Today Show, couldn't believe it... the shooter shot this lawyer outside of a courthouse because he thought the lawyer was helping a client get money owed to the shooter (?) Is that right? So basically the shooter is shooting him up close and the lawyer is trying to dodge the bullets by hiding and going from left to right behind a tree. It was awful! He survived, and he was in amazingly high spirits too.

ETA: A plain clothes cop tackled the shooter immediately after.

What an idiot. If you're going to own or use a gun at least practice with it so you know what you're doing. Or at least play Quake or something ya dig?

I'd like to see the numbers on people who buy a gun but have never fired one; I tried checking online but couldn't find anything.

It would probably be a pretty interesting statistic.

I agree with you though - if you can't fire it, don't use it. Seems like it should be pretty common sense.
