Ladies if you havent checked out the "california is burning" thread in greekchat, polarpi's town is on alert for evacuation and she lost cable and internet services for awhile. Lets make sure she knows we are thinking about her!

Pi love to you polarpi!! Hope everything works out well in the end. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Prayers to Polarpi! My friend Cheryl is in the same boat - they evacuated their dog last week, since you can't take an animal into the shelters. And their house was just finished in April! :eek:

I'm sure that there are a LOT of ADPi sisters who have been or will be affected by these fires. Let's all keep some good thoughts about them.



Oh, and by the by - Polarpi was going to spearhead a little "project" we've been planning here. Would someone else like to take over, so she can focus on other things? Please PM me ASAP!!

We should also be thankful that another sister, Carrie, an Alpha Chi alumna, her parents house was saved from the fire. She sent me pictures via email and the homes all around her parents were completely destroyed.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all my sisters in California right now.

Brianna, was that the home that they kept showing on the news? The one where they faxed a letter saying "God bless this house and the firemen who are protecting it," (paraphrased), and it was the only house spared in the entire neighborhood?

Aww...thanks ladies! I have the best bunch of sisters in the whole wide world! As of right now, the fire is moving away from my town, so we're not in imminent danger of the fires, but there's the possibility the winds could at some point shift direction and push the fire back in the direction it came, which would send it right back toward my town. I appreciate the prayers, and my family and I are ready to go if we need to get out of here (we've done it once before already this week because of the smoke in our town).

Polarpi, I'm so happy to hear that your house isn't in danger anymore. (Right now that is). I hope it stays that way. Please keep us informed.

It's so amazing that the one house was saved!

I send my thoughts to all our sisters in Southern California...What still amazes me about the whole thing is two days ago the city I live in had a cloud layer of the smoke from those fires...Guess what I live in Flagstaff Arizona...About a 7 hour drive from the fires...Let us just hope that everything gets under control.

It is really sad as a thought but when see the picutes it makes it all that much worse.
Hopefully this will all be over soon
