Did anyone watch the Radio Music Awards last night?

I did for a little until I saw Avril Lavigne's performance. That was terrible. Is she trying to ruin her career? She purposely butchered a beautiful, classic song. I want to shake her and be like, "Get rid of the snot-nosed, bratty attitude and give Bob Dylan the respect he deserves. If Guns n' Roses were able to do that song justice, then I believe you can too."

I saw a few parts, like the performances of Michelle Branch, Nelly, Murphy Lee, P. Diddy, and Kelly Clarkson. I really like Michelle, I've seen her in concert and I met her for 2.5 seconds when she autographed her latest CD, but she sounded awful last night. She looked out of it too, plus that single is not her strongest one off that album. Kelly Clarkson-- every televised performance I've seen since she became the American Idol is not nearly as good as the ones on American Idol. Her outfit was cool though. And I liked Nelly, Murphy Lee, and P. Diddy's performance-- P. Diddy could have came out sooner, guess he wanted a more dramatic entrance.

i watched most of it. i thought it was kinda cheesy. it was cool to see jewel win, even though i have never looked at her song 'intuition' as 'best hookup song'

Yeah, I saw Jewel win too-- didn't think Intuition was a hook up song either... and Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow's Picture was nominated as best hook up song too-- that, I didn't get. I wanted John Mayer to win for that one.

I was just wondering if anyone watched the show tonight (10/25/04). I didn't know that it was on tonight and caught the last half hour of it. What all did I miss? How did they address the whole SNL thing with Ashlee Simpson? Also, who all won what?

Destiny's Child opened the show with a really good performance. Beyonce won an award and Usher won three awards including Artist of the Year. Before Ashlee performed, Carson said "Here to perform live, yes, LIVE". Ashlee herself made fun of the incident by starting to play 'Pieces of You' but then said "I'm kidding you guys, just kidding". I taped it so I fast forwarded through most of the show.

Thanks for the info. I really wish I had remembered that it was on, but alas I didn't...Oh well, there's next year ;)
