do chickens have feelings?
what do you think....
Stage fright chicken collapses during rehearsal A chicken collapsed from stage fright during a rehearsal for a play in northern Queensland. Ron Hamilton of the St. James Players said the hen fainted during a dress rehearsal of Johnny Belinda. He said the chicken had a piece of string tied to its leg to stop it from straying. The fowl passed out just inside the set, which meant every actor had to step over it to get on stage. Rather than walking on stage to collect the traumatised animal, the crew removed it by dragging it slowly off-stage by the string. Mr Hamilton said the dress rehearsal was well attended by pensioners who had the chance to see the show for free. The ill-fated chicken was an attempt at obtaining the authentic sound of hens for the opening scene of the play, which is set in a poor Canadian farming community, reports the news.com website. © Associated Press Story filed: 10:45 Monday 20th October 2003 |
Thats terrible!!!!!!!
I dont know about feelings as we know them, but all animals experience stress and anxiety, which was I'm sure why teh poor chicken passed out. To drag it off the stage is just down right wrong and cruel. Just because it's not human doenst mean it shouldnt be respected or treated inhumanely. |

The purpose of chickens (for us) is to be slaughtered and killed. They are bred and raised for that purpose alone. That we respect the "feelings" of something taht we're planning on slaughtering in a very painful way is almoist humerous.
Well... we could just save them for their eggs.. But how about their feelings? We're killing and grilling their babies before they even had a chance to be born! Where's PETA when you need 'em? |
