Who was your LC?
I am just wondering of the chapters that have had an LC who was she or if not who she was, what was the best idea that she has given your chapter?
Nothing negative... she is a sister and is just meaning well... |
Megan Reid and Heather Estes. Both very cool and involved with IHQ.
Best Advice....Have fun. Sorority Life and your chapter are what you make of it. |
I love Heather! Did she do the Goose Tales?

we just had Laura (short blonde bob) and Jillian (from CMU) this past fall. I only met both women briefly but they were amazing!
|
I still remember 2 from around 1975-76!!
Gretchen was from Oregon State and living in CA now. Sharon was from Ark. State and lives in Louisana. She's got a PH.D! :) We were soo impressed that sisters from one part of the country would come to little ole Carrollton! ;) :D |

either my sophomore or junior year, we had lizzie.
my senior year we had, i think her name was, tiffany and jenny. i could be completely lying on those names though! |
I really don't remember too many of the LCs that came to visit except the first one (Maryanne, I think that was her name). She was with us during our installation and after - I think she was more of a chapter sister than an LC. She definitely made us feel more connected to the "real" AGD (we were stuck by ourselves in the middle of the ocean) but I think at times she crossed the line and acted like an undergrad. Overall though, I think both pros and cons left an impact for the positive and made a lasting impression of what fun being in AGD could be.

Jenny's such a sweetheart. I met her at the last Convention and I really wish she'd come back to GC and post if she could! I miss her! |
Last year we had Ashlee Tising, who was wonderful, and then this year our LA is Jen Watters, who is wonderful as well, and is helping Theta Tau out SOOO much!

megan reed *cough*

You could have had me! I went to Pitt State (Epsilon Kappa), DePauw (Eta) , and Memphis State (Gamma Zeta), plus a rush weekend at Michigan (Alpha Beta), before going full-time on extension visits. In the spring I was pretty much full time at Texas A & M starting Epsilon Rho, with a weekend recolonizing trip to Marietta (Alpha Phi, pronounced "fie," not "fee").
When I was an undergrad we had Georgia (Delta Alpha) and Christy (Tau) (1971), Kris (Beta Xi) (1972), and Jill (Chi) (1973). |
You could've had me, too! :) I visited all of our Michigan chapters (except the UP), and a sprinkling of others in Kansas, Tennesee, Washington, Ohio... uhh, I think I'm missing a few states. I traveled in '97-'98. :)
Since then the list has grown much longer -- mostly the west coast chapters. As a collegiate member, we had Nicole Nault and Amy Speck. They were ROCKSTARS (and still are!). :) They are both the reason I went on to become an LC. I wanted to be just like them when I grew up! ;) |
I *heart* Megan Reed. We had her for 2 weeks during formal recruitment my senior year, which was a really rough time for the chapter overall (not just because of recruitment). Although it was kind of rough to have an LC around then because we were under so much pressure, she was really understanding and nice. :)
We also had Lizzie (hmm...I think she was actually the year after I graduated), Mary Lynn, and Kristin, and I can't remember the others' names (Sorry! We had one per semester, and it's hard to keep track!). Jillian is actually arriving at my chapter today, I think. I get to meet her on Sunday when the other advisors and I are taking her to dinner. BTW, AGDAlum, I thought that Alpha Phi chapter was still closed---our CA was a charter member there. |
I asked the question but never answered it myself...
We had Shawna B during our colonization period. She is an awesome sister, putting up with 33 girls that didn't really know what was going on and she had to travel to other chapters also. She was with us from August to I think April. Then the other LC that really touched my chapter was Heather H. She was so great that we asked to back for the following years rush. We still do her cheer... Are you motivated? YES we're motivated... motivated motivated down right motivated... and there is more but it is so "special" that it isn't right to do it without her! And the geese stories. We have one from my chapter this year, she is our first, and I hope that she is touching chapters like these other LC and LAs have. Maybe we will add a 6th chapter to kentucky when I go to Law school and I can be an LA, first I have to get into law school and second UL will need to expand, so I'm not holding my breath. |
