Average NPC Chapter Size?

We hear about the huge chapters at schools like LSU. In reading various rush threads and recruitment tallies there are many places where quota is 12-15.

Does anyone know what the *average* chapter size is?

It would be interesting to know: total undergraduate membership, total number of chapters, the resulting average embers/chapter....and stats by specific group.

If NPC keeps statistics they probably don't disclose them, alas for those of us who are curious about such things.

thats areally good question. I am interested as well in that. I know that at my school, my chapter is at 20 girls. The other 3 are at 40. Quota was only 13 this year, last year it was 26. I know other schools are in the 200s.

Our quota this year was 86 and most houses took about 91 or more. The average size of the houses here is about 180 members. There are four houses that have 200+ members. Yes we are bursting at our seams here at Ole Miss, but we like it that way!

When I was a collegiate member of AOII here at Ole Miss from 1996-2000, the average size was 150. My pledge class was at quota and we had 56 members in our pledge class. Since our university keeps on growing, the Greek Life keeps on growing!

Quota at Auburn this year was 55, and average chapter size is 191.

I've been reading Delta Delta Delta: a history 1888-1988, because I'm a super nerd, and it said that (in 1988) the average Tri Delta chapter had just over a hundred members, and that only six of our chapters had less than 40. I imagine the numbers are a little bit smaller now.

But those are only for Tri Delta, not for sororities in general.

At UCLA, quota this year was 26 and house total is at 115. I would say about 2 houses are at total, 5 extremely close (like only 3-5 away from quota), 2 are probably at just about 85-90, and the last two are probably at 50 and 65.

I know total for Valpo is 53 women, and quota is usually between 8 and 12 women for formal recruitment. :)

At Mercer, total is 75, and quota this year was 26, but only 2/4 houses got quota (Phi Mu and Chi O both got 26 girls), I believe the others COBed to quota but not positive. Right now 3/4 chapters are above campus total, and the other is like 2-3 women below it I think. Chi O is at around 85 actives and new members.
