Will the series survive?
Every new TV season, there are schedule shuffles and character replacements. Usually, the series dies because of these changes. Let's discuss changes of various TV shows: do you think the series will survive sans main character or time changes?
The show I'm thinking of is The Practice. Minus Dylan McDermott, I was afraid it would fade off into the sunset. After seeing the first couple of episodes, I am rather pleased. They talked about missing Bobby and Lindsey for 2 minutes, then it was right back into defending killers and crazy people. Plus, Sharon Stone and Chris O'Donnell? Wow, great guest stars. What do you think about this show, or others? |
I quit watching The Practice 2 years ago, but tuned in to see James Spader....IMHO, he is the only thing good about this season. If it wasn't for him, I'd turn it off completely. I'm sick of seeing them hoodwinked by their clients & pullin "Plan B". Please, David E. Kelley-give the veteran characters something new to do.

I'm glad you brought this up.
In my opinion, the formula was getting tired (being hoodwinked by clients). My mom and my friends stopped watching it because they were tired of the firm always yelling at each other. BOBBY! LINDSAY! EU-GENE! RE-BECC-A! However, I watched it this season because I was curious.....I was pleasantly surprised. I really like Sharon's Stone's guest appearance, as well as James Spader's role Still waiting for Eugene, Jimmy, and that woman (forgot her name) to step up. I also really like the paralegal, and i liked the blond chick who came last season, too. All in all, I don't miss Bobby or Lindsay, and I never though the actress who played Rebecca could act very well. I do miss the DA woman though. |
