Who does Fund Raisers, and what do you do?
While each Chapter of LXA does many Things, "Great North American Food Drive" the Largest In Nothern America, all Chapters, each Chapter has its own!
A lot do a Watermellon Bust! Not really familiar with it. My Chapter has never done this as we did not know about the Water Mellon Thing!:) We do Two Major things besides the Food Drive: Western Week, a total week of fund and Food Raising for the Local Area. Hot-Tub-A-Thon, for 72 Hrs on The Front Lawn of the House for Ronald Mc Donald House. Some Chapters Do a Teeter Totter Thon to collect Money for a Charity! What impresses me, is that We concentrate for the good of the Local Community!:) That is where it is needed and get more PR! Is that bad, No! We need it! :) |

Our alumnae chapter does two things:
1. We sell a ZTA-specific pink ribbon pin for breast cancer awareness (see my sig link). 2. We contact the parents of the local collegians and (for a fee) provide their daughter with a goody bag during finals week. Both programs are very successful for us and have allowed us to be major donors to our Foundation for many years. |
we are actually starting our first fundraiseres soon at our last meeting we decided to sell tickets to a this thing at our mall they open it to only people with tickets and have these great sales and things for children to do and refreshments and door prizes and free pictures with santa and all these other things and you get all the profit from the tickets you sell...
after that we will be selling soy wax candles and then....i think we are selling candy i'm really looking forward to the first one it sounds so cute and i want to take my niece to get her picture with santa hehe |
Hello everyone,
Wellsince I am an Independent Distributor for Mia Bella Soy candles, that is what my organization has been selling. We have made some good many and plan on selling again for an upcoming event. Jessica |

One thing I've learned about fundraisers is to be sure not to "canalbalize" your own members. In other words, plan something that won't take a lot of money from your membership, but will raise money from other people. Our alumnae association made candy for several years - we became known for it, and there were two different companies who would place orders of 50+ boxes each! It was a low maintainance fundraiser. We chose 8 different types of candy, and at least two members made x amount each. These were all brought to a meeting where we filled the boxes on an assembly line (many I Love Lucy jokes here!), then distributed as per orders. The candy itself was those microwaveable discs, melted and then the nuts, raisens, coconut, crunchies or whatever added. And of course, we had our secret "Lion's Roar" candy that everyone loved! I think we made roughly $1,500 profit from each sale. FWIW, I've been involved in a LOT of fundraisers. The first thing you have to do is decide how much you want to make, the second is how much time you want to put into it. |
