Sisters

I keep my copy of Sisters next to my home computer especially for GreekChat. :) While looking up something last night, I found a photo of Alpha Iotas from the 1930's that was pretty interesting. One of the "big" items at the sororities is large framed photos of their founders or such.

Now, I was fortunate enough to get to know the Alpha Iota Founder - Louise Heatherington, a wonderful lady - but there are no contemporary photos of Miss Heatherington & the other Founders. I was thinking that it would be very cool to get a copy of this photo and have it enlarged for the Suite.

Do you think EO would still have a copy of this photo? And why am I posting this here, instead of going directly to the source? :)

Do other chapters have photos like that?

Honey, contact EO and ask to speak with the archivist Karen Reece. She can point you in the right direction. I think that is a super idea for you to get that photo!

At UCLA, the girls have photos from the recent and not-so-recent past framed and mounted-- that also includes a little plaque explaining what the photo is from. It really shows the chapter and its growth through the years--- photos from room to room of the house!

Thank you! Since it's close to closing time (for we East Coast people!), I'll call or email her in the morning. I appreciate having the right name, though!

I know exactly where the photo would look best! For those of you who have Sisters, it's on page 74, and I actually restored that sign when I was an active!

Y'all have heard my Recruitment story a million times, but I never mentioned this: after my first round of parties, I talked to my mother about which ones I liked & didn't particularly like. When I told her that Kappa was nice, but oh, did I love the ADPis, she was quiet for a minute, then said something to the effect that she didn't know much about the ADPis except that they were Southern and very history-minded! I think that was what made going ADPi instead of Kappa okay in her book! :)

Sally Thomas also replied to you at Pride Online :) Let us know how you make out with your image!

I just spoke to the lovely Karen Reece, and we're going to try to do this digitally. If that doesn't work, we'll figure out another way.

She is truly a Super Sister! Violets to adpiucf for providing the connection!
