Founder's Day 2003

We went to Chicago for our Founder's Day. This is the best one that I've been to in awhile. I love the girls from Loyola, Quincy, UIC, and IU-Kokomo.
Guys, IU-Kokomo colonized with 25 girls interested last semester. They now have 62 members waiting to be initiated this fall.
*snaps*

The girls in our region are awesome and so helpful. We actually got to sit with girls from other chapters. It was totally awesome.

I LOVE PHI SIG!!!

I just went to the IU Kokomo webpage, are they the only greek org on campus? Because on their student activities page is a link to a little blurb about them and some great pictures. Congrats to them!! Good to see us thriving!

if your chapter ever gets the chance to hear Amy Lau, i suggest you go hear her speak. she's an alum of phi sig from U-Laverne. she's so motivating and awesome.

Are you talking about Wendy??? She's really nice, and has done very well for herself! Def. a good example of aiming high! :)

Actually it's Wendy Lau. But you're right she's wonderful! (I am a little biased since she's from my chapter and was a BIG reason I joined Phi Sig) What did she speak on? Last year she was one of the FISH presenters at our Division Conference.

Why did I think her name was Amy? Everyone's name was running together. She's great. She talked about embracing the core values of Phi Sigma Sigma. It was awesome.

Glad to hear you had a great founder's day.
my chapter is hosting my region's this year - not until nov 15th.

Wendy is great. She came to our chapter when she was consultant - that was my first year in phi sig!

I think I'm going to Founders Day this year. We're holding it on October 26th ( right after Homecoming Weekend ) and its gonna be at WPI....

I will defiantley tell y'all about it when its done with. :D

Perhaps it is because Central Office is literally a couple blocks away from my chapter, but arent we required to hold founders day in late november, like near the date of founding , the 26th? For us the three chapters in the area have to get together for a 150% mandatory event. Or is this your local founding???

SapphireSphinx9 10-13-2003 03:51 AM

In the past, our division has gotten together as close as possible to the actual founding date for our Founder's Day celebration. I think last year it was a couple of week before...

Why do other chapters celebrate earlier???

MooseGirl 10-13-2003 12:01 PM

i think it just has to do with the chapters' schedules...i know it was hard because many chapters in my region are initiating in november. there were other things going on too, like in canada there's a greek conference nov 7th-9th so my chapter wouldn't want founder's day that weekend. We almost did happen to have it in october!

Jadey28 10-13-2003 12:33 PM

Region 8 is holding their Founder's Day on November 9th. We, too, usually try to hold FD as close as possible to the 26th. But since Thanksgiving is November 27th, we're having it a little early in November. I'm looking forward to it because there is going to be a big focus on the alumnae and their support!

White_Chocolate 10-14-2003 09:43 AM

we held ours early because our regional director wanted to be there
but her baby was due in november
