A O PI Song

This is a little bit off beat but bear with me. I am a huge Neil Young fan and yesterday I put his "Decade" CD in my CD Player. The first song up was " Love is a Rose", very pretty song.
My wife mentioned that the Vanderbilt Chapter of AOPI used " Love is A Rose" as a theme song during rush, spirit week etc, she thought Linda Ronstadt had written the song.
I am curious if many AOPI Chapters are familiar with the song, is it used etc. I assume a Rose is the AOPI Flower.

Just wondering,

Glenn

Our flower is indeed a rose, the General Jaqueminot Rose. I am not familiar with the song, though :(

Is Mrs. g41965 an AOII?

Actually my wife is an ADPI.
My wife had many many friends that were AOPI's( including her freshman roomate, who my wife still corresponds with, and she tells me when she went to Vanderbilt ,1980-1984, parties were open and she went to several AOPI events (this was not common at my Alma Mater UT-Austin).

Best Wishes:

Glenn

I think Linda Ronstadt recorded "Love is a Rose" just like Nicolette Larson record Neil's song "Its gonna take a lot of Love"

I am an AOII from Vandy and was there from 1982-1986. I know the song you are talking about but don't recall our using it. That is not to say that we didn't, but I do sometimes find my memory waning with age :). We did use "The Rose" made popular by Bette Midler for every recruitment I was there for. I had a lot of ADPi friends when I was at Vandy and just love their chapter there. My husband, an Aggie, wouldn't be too thrilled with me replying to the message of a t-sip (lol) ;), but please give my regards to your wife a fellow 'Dore :D .
