Non-Drinkers?
.
|
I do drink on occasion, but I don't get drunk...ok maybe like once or twice.
|
I'm not exactly a non-drinker, but it doesn't hold the allure for me that it once did. I'm supposed to be drinking a glass of wine every other day for a study in which I'm involved, and I have to leave a note for myself!
|
I remember drinking......and I remember not remembering drinking......I do know that I have no idea why I drank for so long, so thats why I don't anymore. I would drink for one night and have a migraine for 3 days - not worth it!

i dont drink i got alcohol poisoning the first time i ever drank and started having seizures and i really didnt even drink that much....let's just say i learned my lesson :( and i figured out i cant really hold my alcohol and since then i'm a sipper i cant really finish anything :) which is strange in my family cause they are big drinkers

I don't drink in general. Perhaps a glass of wine occasionally, but that's it. Since being diagnosed with Crohn's Disease, I found that any drink makes my Crohn's flare up horribly. When I tell most people that I'm doing fine and the only trigger I have is alcohol, some say "Oh my gosh, that's awful", but to me, it's not a big deal. It's just not something I need to do, ever.

Mr. KR doesn't drink alcohol of any kind, nor coffee, nor soda. The only things he drinks are fruit juice and water. He just doesn't like the taste of the other stuff.
That's fine with me except it would be nice to split a bottle of wine sometimes when we go out for dinner. |
I would say that I am a social drinker! I do know my limits...
|
Back in my younger days I could go out and get trashed on a regular basis. After a few incidents caused by getting wasted (no DUIs, thank you) I don't drink as much as I used to. I'll have the occasional beer, wine or mixed drink, but I know my limits.

I'm not a big drinker... Sometimes in the end of day I like drinking a glass of good wine... It contains many vitamins...

I'm like you, Ariesrising, I don't even like the taste of alcohol. To me, beer tastes like rotten grain (which it is) and wine tastes like cough syrup or something. I can sort of handle champagne and cider....but only in small amounts. At least they taste "decent enough."
HOWEVER, I have a much more personal reason for not drinking any alcohol at all - I lost my mother to alcoholism 4 and a half years ago. I have to say it really sucks to lose a mother that way - especially since she had called up a recovery home to enroll literally a couple hours before she died. Even if I liked the taste of alcohol (which I don't) I don't want to drink it lest I find myself in the same position. After all, research has shown a genetic link for alcoholism. To me, any health benefits alcohol may provide are not worth the risk. Most people are pretty cool with my not drinking alcohol. Those who press me to drink and ask me why I'm "not any fun" are quickly silenced once I finally give in and explain my reasons. To each his own I suppose. .....Kelly :) |
I drink very infrequently (dinner with the family, night out with the girls) and I have never been drunk. I hate beer and I don't do shots. I pretty much only have wine or mixed drinks.

I don't drink. Bad liver.

I don't drink very often because there is a long history of alcoholism in my family. I discovered freshman year that I can drink far too much without anything happening so now I try to limit myself. I did drink at a wedding this weekend, but I just had some champagne, wine coolers, and Smirnoff - I try not to drink the hard stuff after an incident my freshman year when I made blue UV vomit. :p

i don't drink either, I used to drink but stopped when I was a sophomore in college. I don't like the taste, plus I am a very small person and it doens't take much to get me drunk, and being drunk is really not appealing. My dad is a recovered alcoholic and I hate it when my boyfriend drinks too much, which he doesn't do very often since he knows it really bothers me.
