"The Fraternal Orders of Stars"--People

Hey all-

I know the discussion of "Famous Greeks" has been done a zillion times, but I got the new People magazine a few minutes ago and they have a little section about our Famous Greeks! Here is the rundown that they published:

SC-"Traditionally Big Men on Campus. Best known for The Sweetheart of Sigma Chi ball held annually."
Brad Pitt
David Letterman
Woody Harrelson
Warren Beatty
Tom Selleck

KKG-"Sorority boasts a "single sex oasis in a mainly coed campus environment."
Ashley Judd
Candice Bergen
Jane Pauley
Kate Jackson
Kate Spade

DTD-"Founded in 1858 by students angered by a rigged vote in an oratory contest."
Matthew McConaughey
David Schwimmer
Will Ferrell
Drew Carey

DDD-"The Tri Delts were lampooned in a Saturday Night Live skit ("Delta, Delta, Delta, can I help ya, help ya, help ya?")"
Katie Couric
Leeza Gibbons
Deborah Norville
Dixie Carter

SAE-"The largest social frat in the US with more than 260,000 initiated members."
David Spade
Fred Savage
Beau Bridges
Nick Lachey

CO-"The country's largest sorority has many closely guarded worship songs that pledges must learn. Symbol is the skull and crossbones."
Sela Ward
Lucy Liu
Cybill Shepherd
Joanne Woodward

Is anyone else confused?? Aren't ALL sororities single sex? And Chi-O has "closely guarded worship songs??" Sounds like someone needs to do some research on Greek life, apart from creepy troll websites!

Ya mean you didn't have to shave your head, eat a chicken and chant? ;)

Folx will be disappointed!

LOL. Nice. I promise I didn't have to learn any "worship" songs in Chi O.

Is this the people with John Ritter (boy I miss him) on the cover?
or is it a NEW one...
(I subscribe to People)

Um, someone needs to re-do their research. This list is wrong.

That Chi O thing is just too ridiculous for words, too. You'd think someone at People would have the sense to red flag and re-check that description on Chi Omega!

It is the one that has Jennifer Aniston on the cover, dated October 6th.

Yeah, no kidding like how about Condelezza Rice an awesome Alpha Chi Omega! She has done more for the country in terms of service than any of those mentioned. Honestly, how could they leave her out....okay well she's not a star....but she really should be! *off to the corner to pout*

I think it's because People is directed towards people who follow the entertainment world, not the political, business, scientific or sports worlds.

The article was odd, as I don't consider Kate Spade a "star" she's a designer and a well known name.

Off the top of my head I can think of these NPHC members...
Toni Morrison
Maya Angelou
The newest Miss America Ericka Dunlap
Thurgood Marshall
Shaq
Martin Luther King Jr.

Did you all know that David Spade is Kate Spade's brother-in-law? She's married to his brother Andy Spade.

AXWhoah, this is sad but I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of People's target demographic has no idea who Condie Rice is

Wait, how is this list wrong? I've heard all five of these listed as famous Kappas... In fact, in my new member supplement, all are listed except Candice Bergen, and I've heard she resigned after going alumni because of the controversy surrounding her having a child while unmarried... or something like that?
